Description
Weekly fluency practice for your K/1 readers!
There are over 190 pages of resources included in this packet that can be used to support your students’ fluency development. Create the same Fluency Folders for your entire class, or differentiate your folders to target the learning needs of individual students.
The fluency activities are Common Core aligned (RF.K) and are designed to build fluency skills (specifically, accuracy & automaticity) with early literacy letters, sounds, and words.
This product is perfect for weekly homework throughout the school year. You can even use the lists and graphs in the classroom. Graphs are included for students to track their own progress. Flash Cards are included for students to practice the letters, sounds, and words in different sequences. Choose your log and choose your progress recording option. Many choices are included for you to create your own CUSTOM fluency folders! (You can even glue the pages into notebooks!)
The ultimate goal with this packet is for students to automatically recognize letters, sounds, and words so that they can later on read phrases, sentences, and passages for meaning.
Each list will require parents to time their child to see how many letters, sounds, and words they can identify in one minute. These “Learning to Read” accuracy and speed drills will build automatic recognition and will provide the foundation for later fluency development. Using these fluency folders will help your students transition to “Reading to Learn.”
NOTE: This product was created with KINDERGARTEN in mind but can be used with struggling readers in FIRST GRADE as well.
