Description
This phonics resource focuses on the SCHWA sound. It introduces schwa as a “stress-free” phoneme and is perfect for assessment and practice.
The word lists and tracking forms are great for informal assessments and to determine if students need interventions in the areas of phonics, specifically with the schwa sound. This resource is also great for progress monitoring students who are already receiving instruction in this area. It’s a great supplemental resource to any OG (e.g., Wilson, Barton, etc.) program. How you use this resource is up to you!
Students can also use the word lists for schwa practice in literacy centers, Daily 5 rotations, or Reading Workshop. Laminate the practice pages for use in centers or create schwa mini-word list key chains for each individual student.
